Use only the best with professional beauty supply

If you are the kind of woman that holds your appearance in high regard and enjoys doing a great deal of beautifying yourself, you should consider using a professional beauty supply store to purchase the very best in beauty supplies.

Professional beauty supply stores specialize in offering superior products to salons. The great news is they also offer those professional supplies to individuals. These stores are the most convenient and inexpensive way to purchase salon quality products. In fact, many of these products are not even available in regular retail stores and similar products that are available are of inferior quality.

To find a professional beauty store, you can look in several locations. Perhaps the most reliable source is to talk to your stylist or manicurist to find out where they buy their products from. For most people, word of mouth is the most reputable advertising. You can also check the yellow pages under “beauty supply” or the internet for local stores or stores that offer free delivery.

Some of the hair products that are most often available at professional beauty supply stores include shampoos, conditioners, styling products, and even salon quality styling tools, like curling irons, hot rollers, etc. Professional beauty supply stores also have perm and dye products, so you can purchase everything you need to do these advanced processes at home with salon quality products.

Professional beauty supply stores also have everything you need for perfect nails, including manicure products and items for acrylic nails and tips. No more spending $30 to $50 on getting your nails done; you can buy everything you need to do it yourself.

Many stores also have other products, such as hair pieces, wigs, and extensions as well as the glue and application products needed to apply everything. You can get natural and synthetic items – whatever you prefer.

If you like looking nice, would like to do your hair or nails yourself, but do not know how, you may still be able to utilize professional beauty supply stores. If you really want to learn how to do your hair or nails professionally, you can always take a class or two at a local community college or beauty school. Even if you have no interest in doing this professionally, being able to take care of yourself, your friends, and family may very well be worth the small effort to learn how to do it. You could also qualify for a discount at beauty supply stores because you have taken the classes.

Using hypnosis to lose weight - how effective is it

Why does hypnosis help with weight loss?

It’s becoming more and more common nowadays to turn to hypnosis when we want to achieve a goal. We may want to quit smoking, rid ourselves of phobias or lose weight – in all these cases hypnosis offers a proven and successful solution. So why does hypnosis work?

If you look at hypnosis for weight loss then the reasons behind the success of this method becomes clear. If you suffer from weight problems – whether you yo-yo diet or can’t seem to find the motivation to get on a diet that suits you – then you probably already know that your problem isn’t really your weight at the end of the day. The problem is more likely to rest with you.

In the majority of cases people cannot lose weight effectively because of some psychological issue that prevents them from achieving their goal. You may, for example, naturally crave unhealthy foods rather than healthy ones. Eating unhealthy foods here may make you happier and more comfortable. Or, you may eat the wrong foods or the wrong amount of food whenever you are stressed, unhappy or uncomfortable. In either case hypnosis can help.

Hypnosis helps here because it goes straight to the root of the problem – your unhealthy eating patterns – and helps modify your behavior. So, after this kind of treatment your mind won’t tell you to eat sugary or fatty foods – it will tell you to eat healthy ones. And, your mind won’t tell you to reach for a snack when you’re worried or stressed but instead will give you an alternative ways to manage stress. This behavior modification is the key to successful weight loss – and keeping it off.

How do I know hypnosis works?

Hypnosis is a scientifically accredited method of helping people overcome all kinds of difficulties. For example, in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology (Vol.64, No.3) in 1996 a study showed that the average weight loss without hypnosis was 6.03 pounds. With hypnosis average weight loss came in at 14.88 pounds. So, with hypnosis you can double your weight loss with no extra effort.

And, because hypnosis modifies your behavior at source then you stand a far greater chance of keeping the weight off rather than putting it on again. A study that appeared in the Journal of Clinical Psychology (41) in 1985 tested a group of people who used hypnosis to lose weight and a group who did not. Whilst both groups lost weight during the study the hypnosis group continued to lose weight after the study had finished and achieved their weight loss goals. The group that did not have the behavior modification benefits of hypnosis did not achieve this.

What you didn t know about the law of attraction

Imagine for a moment that it’s Monday. The alarm clock rings at six. It’s like a thunderclap cutting through the haze of yesterday’s white whine and three hours worth of Friend’s rerun.

So you get up… and accidentally bang your knee on the bedpost. Dark murderous thoughts fire across your neurons as you amble to the bathroom where you stub your toe.

Bam. Suddenly everything and everyone is public enemy number one.

You snarl at the wife handing you eggs.

You froth at Junior offering you coffee.

And you kick the fat hairy walking sofa licking your hand.

The rest of the day obviously spiralled for the worst - in fact you almost get fired for biting off the boss’ head.

That’s the Law of Attraction working against you. What you think and feel attracts the same. The Law of Attraction is simply the manifestation of your mind in the real world.

Let’s do a little experiment.

Hold out your arms and ask a friend to push it down as you think of something great - like when you snagged a promotion or enjoyed a night of steamy sex. He’d have difficulty pushing.

Now repeat the same while thinking about debts, bills, war or your in-laws.

He should push it down very easily. What gives?

Your mind transforms your body. Simple as that. What you think and feel empowers or weakens you.

Do you want to go around the world lugging a bunch of energy-sapping emotions? Or do you want to dominate your environment?

Here are five amazing tips I’ve implemented to explode the power of attraction in my life:

1) Always ask yourself “What Great Things Can I accomplish today” upon getting up. This sets the tone of your day and primes you attract positive opportunities.

2) Always be grateful for the things you took for granted. Like simply that you’re breathing. Say “Thank you, Im still breathing! Im luckier than that bloke under the tombstone.” Gratitude naturally and easily conditions you for affuence and attracts more empowered men and women into your life.

3) Something bad happen? Shrug it off and flick it from your jacket like lint. This action rapidly kicks any negative thoughts that may attract bad things into your day.

4) Hang out only with positive people. Like attracts like. Remember that.

5) And finally… treat people the way the expect to be treated. They will reciprocate and hold you in high regard. Build your social network on the right foot and expect to fly to the top of your aspirations. Attract the right people, support them and they will attract for you the right conditions for success!

The varied foot

Unlike hands, feet are common among more animals, although they do vary signifcantly among each animal. Most vertebrates (animals that have backbones) have feet that are located at the end of each of their legs. Generally the foot is a complex structure that is made up primarily of bone, muscle and connective tissue. At one point in our lives I'm sure we have seen our feet, or the feet of our household pets which are called paws. Animals feet are called paws because they have soft or padded feet.

This varies differently from mollusks (soft bodied, shelled animals such as clams & oysters) that have a primarily muscular foot structure. Humans use their feet for something that is almost unique to them which is bipedal locomotion. We never put much thought into it, but it's a very special ability that we have, and is known as walking. Although both our feet and hands have the same five digit anatomy, the foot is lacking the opposable thumb and the dexterity that we enjoy from our hands. Although the feet are a relatively small section of our body, they comprise of half the bones in our body and are very intricate in structure.

The foot design is so intricate because of the amount of weight that is placed on the foot among other tasks such as balancing. There is a huge list of foot problems that can be experienced from improper loading, etc of the foot, a few of which I have listed: Heel Spurs, Achilles Tendonitis, Plantar Fasciitis, Arch/Pain Strain, Shin Splints, Arthritis. For the most case all of these conditions are preventable and can be treated by a foot doctor. If you are experiencing any pains or other symptoms in your feet and lower legs it is recommended to have it looked at as soon as possible, as our feet provide us with a strong foundation for live; no kidding.

The most popular roses

When most think of flowers the image that comes to mind is that of a rose. A rose can be used to express any kind of emotion. It can indicate love or it can denote sadness. It can bring a peace of mind or it can excite the receiver.

Little wonder that most of us want to buy a rose. And it is easily understandable as to why many of us would want to see roses blooming in our gardens.

People like all the different varieties of roses. Yet as is the case with most things there are some roses that are more popular than the others.

The image of rose that comes to the mind of most people is that of a hybrid tea rose. A hybrid tea rose usually has a large bloom at the end of a cane. The blooms of hybrid teas come in almost all colors except blue and black.

It is the hybrid teas that are sold the most at florists shop. Examples of this type of rose are Double Delight and Mr. Lincoln.

Another popular variety of roses is the Floribundas. These were earlier called hybrid polyanthas. These usually have smaller blooms and the blooms are usually in clusters.

However there are some exceptions in which the blooms appear singularly. These are the roses ideal for landscaping purposes. Examples of this category are Iceberg and Angel Face.

At times you can also combinations of the Floribundas and the Hybrid Teas. These are called Grandifloras. These are comparatively smaller plants.

Their blooms are also smaller and tend to come in clusters. Queen and Elizabeth are two such combinations.

Then there are the Miniature roses. These are roses that are smaller in bush, foliage and bloom size. The looms of the miniature roses tend to lie in the range of Ѕ to 2 inches.

Miniatures are very popular roses. The biggest advantage with them is that they can be grown anywhere, even in containers. Behold and Fairhope are two representatives of this category of roses.

Mini-Floras are roses that are too large to be miniatures but too small to be either a Hybrid Tea or a Floribunda. These are usually not fit for landscaping purposes. Cachet and Autumn Splendor are two examples the roses that are covered by this category.

The next sets of roses that are worth a mention are the Old Garden Roses. These are the roses that had been classified before 1867. These include the mosses and the gallicas.

Shrubs are next roses that we can talk about. This is catchall category. This includes roses that are hybrids of other categories and the roses that do not fir easily in any other categories. Ballerina and Rose de Rescht are two roses that fall under this category.

Any such cannot be completed without a mention of the Climbing Roses, which are named so because they can climb to great heights. These are very vigorous in nature. When they are in bloom they tend to be covered in blooms for a month or even longer.

The canes of these roses are flexible. The blooms of the Climbing Roses are small in size and are arranged in large clusters. American Pillar and Seven Sisters are but two of the roses that belong to this category.

These are the prominent categories of the roses that are favored by the gardeners. Each of them needs a certain climate for growth and it is this climate that determines the region of their growth.

So pick your favorite keeping in mind the growth conditions and fill your garden with roses.

Steroid a powerful drug

Steroid is the synthetic drug or natural compound, or steroid hormone that promotes general growth or the growth or function of the reproductive organs and the development of secondary sex characteristics. There are many types of synthetic drug or natural steroids. The natural steroid alcohol derived from plants or animals is called sterol. Sterol is waxy insoluble substance.

The steroid that helps to build hormones estrogen and androgen in body is known as steroid hormone, sex hormone, or sex steroid. The steroid hormone or sex steroid interacts with vertebrate androgen or estrogen receptors. The natural sex steroid is naturally produced by the gonads (ovaries or testes), by adrenal glands, or by conversion from other sex steroids in other tissues such as liver or fat. It is sometimes also known as gonadal steroid.

Sex steroid or steroid hormone plays key role in primary sex characteristics and secondary sex characteristics of body. It controls the development of both primary and secondary sexual characteristics. Steroid hormones are mainly categorized as androgens, estrogens, and progestagen. Androgens steroids are also known as anabolic steroids. Progesterone is the most important and only naturally occurring human. The androgens include testosterone, androstenedione, dihydrotestosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone, and anabolic steroids. The estrogens include estradiol and diethylstilbestrol. The progestagens include progesterone and progestins. Steroid hormones are also categorized as progestagen. glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoid, and vitamin d

Synthetically contrived steroids and sterols are often used for various medical purposes. There is a wide range of synthetic steroids and sterols available on the market. The majority of drugs are steroid, but non-steroid molecules can interact with the steroid receptors because of a similarity of shape. Some of synthetic steroid drugs are weaker and some are much stronger, than the natural steroids whose receptors they activate.

Some of synthetic steroid hormones include; glucocorticoids - prednisone, dexamethasone, triamcinolone; mineralocorticoid - fludrocortisone; vitamin d - dihydrotachysterol; androgens - oxandrolone, decadurabolin; estrogens - diethylstilbestrol (des); and progestins: norethindrone, medroxyprogesterone acetate.

5 ways to think up a great domain name that s still available

I'd be a zillionaire if I earned a dollar each time someone complains that all the great domain names are already taken. It's just not true, however. Even in a highly competitive industry, you can think up original, appealing domain names for businesses by using naming tactics that few people use, such as these:

1. Focus on results. What is the outcome or end result that people want to have from buying a certain product or service? How do they feel when they have finished the transaction? My own company name, Named At Last, falls into this category.

2. Look for puns. Make a list of relevant keywords, say each out loud and play around with the sounds. Puns are much less likely than other kinds of names to have been registered because their component parts are not actual words. For instance, the name Sitesfaction, for a web design company, was a finalist in our first naming contest - and an available domain at that time despite tens of thousands of web design firms in the English-speaking world.

3. Think slang. Let your imagination and memory fly around for pleasing-to-the-ear expressions. As of today, the domain BoyOhBoyToys. com for an online toy store is unregistered, as is a domain for its sister store AttaGirlToys. com.

4. Go symbolic. Suppose you're an expert on the horror genre and want to start a paid online community for horror fans. Horrorific. com, horrorgate. com and Horrornet. com are all taken, but as of today, the less obvious and more vivid FrightOwl. com is not.

5. Vary real words. "Google's name is a play on the word googol, which refers to the number 1 followed by one hundred zeroes," says the Press Center of the world's most successful search engine. "The word was coined by the nine-year-old nephew of mathematician Edward Kasner," it continues - providing another hint for creative naming: consult a kid.

Happy Naming!

Six pack abs the big picture

The point of this article is to help you grasp the big picture of getting six pack abs.

In short, to get six pack abs, you need to get leaner and develop your abs' musculature. This is done through training and nutrition. The topic of nutrition is covered extensively elsewhere on the net: I won't delve in it.

Training-wise, to build six pack abs, you must combine cardio exercise, weightlifting, and abdominal exercises. All three are important, and to really get results you must do all three.

Cardio makes you leaner, which is necessary if you want your abs to show.

Weightlifting makes you leaner, too, by increasing your resting metabolic rate and the amount of calories you burn at rest. Good weightlifting routines for fat loss are also available elsewhere online. I recommend Lyle McDonald’s Ultimate Diet 2.0 (which integrates nutrition and training for superior results: best for serious trainees) and Craig Ballantyne's Turbulence Training (this one is more beginner-friendly).

Finally, abdominal exercises are needed to define your abs and give them the six pack look.

Simple enough? OK, let's get serious.

Cardio comprises long, slow cardio and interval training. To get six pack abs quickly, the best approach is to do both. Since interval training is better than long, slow cardio, if you're short on time, do interval training only.

Abdominal exercises can be divided according to which area they put the emphasis on. All exercises activate the whole abdominal region, but each one targets a specific area more than the others. They can put the emphasis on the upper and middle abs, the lower abs, or the side abs.

So where do we go from there? Well, to sum up, to get six pack abs you need good nutrition (covered elsewhere) and effective training (including cardio, weightlifting, and abdominal exercises). Cardio comprises long, slow cardio and interval training, whereas abdominal exercises can target the upper and middle, lower, or side abs.

The web has a few good sources of information on these topics-I mentioned some. But searching the web is a hassle. If you value your time, want quality instructions, and would like to get six pack abs sooner rather than later take a look at my six pack abs solution below. It gets results-guaranteed.

7 habits of highly effective investors

There are 7 habits that highly effective investors engage in regularly that separate themselves from the thundering sheep herd. These 7 habits, in fact, often lead to highly effective investors acting very differently from the average investor not because he or she believes in contrarian investing, but because the highly effective investor utilizes information that the average investor does not consider in making his or her investment decisions. It is not the behavior that makes someone a highly effective investor, but it is the information a highly effective investor uncovers that makes his or her investing behavior drastically different.

These 7 habits are what drive the behavior of highly effective investors:

(1)Learn how to invest for yourself instead of handing your money to someone else to invest.

Self-reliance is the best way to ensure that no one is selling you the highest fee or commission products or worse, stealing from your account or incompetently managing your account (which is almost the same as stealing).

(2)Incorporate buy and sell rules that you do not waver from.

In investing, unlike relationships, emotion and hope are both the enemy. Becoming enamored with an investment or a stock and refusing to sell out when you’ve made enormous gains or minimal losses increases the chances that the investment will turn from a good to bad one or from a bad to worse one. Hoping that an investment will recoup losses that are unforeseen is a dangerous game as opposed to having definite sell rules that you follow no matter how much you love a particular investment.

(3)Having a “rich” life is not just about making money.

The most effective investors have an investment system that they have customized to their strengths and that they have spent time to learn so that investing does not consume their lives. Effective investors have loads of success in their investment lives yet still have enough leisure time to spend lots of time with their friends and families.

(4)Don’t enter investment opportunities you don’t fully understand because someone else, even a close friend, tells you that there is no “downside” with unlimited upside.

Anytime you here the phrase there is no downside, it should immediately trigger a red flag. There is no such thing as an investment with no downside. Even U. S. government treasuries, though none have ever defaulted to this date, still have a slim risk of defaulting. In fact, in 2006, the ceiling on the national debt had to be raised to ensure that the U. S. government could continue servicing interest on treasuries. Always take the time to fully understand what you invest in.

(5)Take as much time to understand that volatility does not equal risk.

Every truly successful investor has hit some homeruns in their lifetime. This required investing in assets that have some considerable volatility. At the end of the day, only your absolute returns matter. If this requires having to invest 15% of your portfolio in much more volatile assets than the rest of the 85% of your portfolio, and out of that 15% the chances are high that some will lose money but the chances are high that some will end up being enormous home runs, it is much better to invest this way than to invest 100% in assets that you expect to return 8% a year.

Effective investors take very calculated risks in assets that have high levels of volatility to earn returns that blow the average investor out of the water. Again, investing like this is not riskier than the guy that conservatively invests. In fact, the conservative investor is taking the greater risk, because he or she has a much higher probability of never getting rich. Effective investors ensure that not only do they understand this concept, but that they effectively apply it as well. The overwhelming majority of financial consultants employed by large global investment houses do not understand this concept. That is why habit #1, Learn to invest yourself, is so important.

(6)Employ the long tail of investment analysis and the long tail of investment strategies to vastly improve your returns.

The flattening of the world and increased accessibility to top-notch financial, corporate, and political information has created a drastic shift in the most effective investment strategies. Just Google “Long tail of investment strategies” and the “Long tail of investment analysis” to find more information about this.

(7)No highly effective investor utilizes diversification to become wealthy.

It simply can’t be done. Specialize, specialize, specialize. Become an expert in several asset classes and find the best investment opportunities in these asset classes. Join an investment club with other experts and leverage all the expert knowledge to find the best investment opportunities not in your country, but the best investment opportunities in the world.

Stop all that credit card spending and start using debt management

Reducing your credit card debt is not easy, and requires planning and discipline. We all know that it is much easier to pull out that plastic than to pay cash for something. Credit card balances therefore escalate quickly since it doesn't even feel like we are spending. The high interest rates on credit cards just make the balances go up even faster.

The answer to reducing credit card debt is to reduce credit card spending. But this is easier said than done. If you have the credit card in your pocket, you will be tempted to use it. The best solution is simply to destroy all of your credit cards except one. You save that one for use in case of emergencies. Cut up all the credit cards except the one with the lowest interest rate.

Another solution would be to take advantage of a zero percent credit card offer to do a balance transfer of all of your credit card debt. These offers come in the mail from time to time, so watch for them. The advantage of this is that 100% of your payments are reducing your debt, not paying interest. The zero percent will only apply during the introductory period, and what the credit card company making the offer is hoping for is that you will still have a balance at the end of that period that they will earn their interest on.

But for you, the credit card holder, the best way to manage this is to dovetail one zero balance offer onto another. Have the application filled out on a new one so that as the old one finishes its introductory period, you are ready to transfer that balance onto the new one, and on and on until the entire balance is paid off. If this is not possible, try to pay as much as you can during the introductory period so you end up with a smaller balance instead of a larger one due to interest accumulation.

If you do not receive a zero percent interest rate offer, look around for the cheapest offer you can. As long as it is lower than the interest rates you are currently paying, you will save money and be able to pay off your debt faster. Your goal should be to reduce your interest rate so that part of your monthly payment is paying off balances instead of just interest. Otherwise, you will never get rid of credit card debt.

Another excellent idea is to have your bank make automatic payments to your credit card bill. Your payment will always be on time, avoiding late charges, and you will start to reduce the credit card debt.

You can also consider a debt consolidation loan. The main advantages of a debt consolidation loan is that it is at a lower interest rate than your credit card debt, and that you only have to pay one lump sum instead of several smaller payments that add up to a larger total sum. This makes keeping track of your bills easier, and it will get all those collection agencies off your back.

I quit and other sensible ideas - or five reasons to stay a writer

It comes along more frequently than not: The thought that you’re insane and should pursue a career that doesn’t stomp on your pride or demolish your ego. You have the hopes of fame and fortune to comfort you at times, but not often enough to keep doubt from gnawing at your mind.

Discouragement is a constant companion. You face rejections. You spend time, money and energy with no guarantee of financial gain (and if you’re published, you face rejections; spend time, money and energy with no guarantee of financial gain). You endure looks of healthy disdain from people when you reveal you’re a writer. If you’re a literary writer, you’re regarded with some awe; a genre author; however, is looked upon with the same reverence as a stripper.

At times like these, quitting seems like a sensible thing to do. I would encourage it, if you are constantly depressed and on the verge of madness. It isn’t worth your sanity and publishing isn’t an industry that is concerned with keeping you sane. Drinking may no longer be common among writers, but it certainly is a temptation.

If rejections make you want to bang your head against the wall, writing is painful and the thought of another damn story swimming in your head makes you nauseous - Stop. Now. If you can’t stop, there’s help. Here are five reasons to stay a writer:

You don’t have to submit your work. There’s no obligation for a writer to share their work with editors and critics (Emily Dickinson is a fine example) you can write for the pleasure of it. If you do wish to publicize your work, you can self-publish. However, you don’t need to be published to be a writer (I know I keep saying this, but I will continue to do so until I am believed). Validation is great, creation divine. Create, explore, indulge! Be free. Write.

For immortality. When you die, there is a distinct possibility that your unpublished works will be discovered, you’ll be proclaimed a genius, your books will be translated into many languages both live and dead, turned into a film every few decades and inspire legions of writers who are obscure and writing anyway. If you don’t write, there will be nothing to discover.

Revenge. Remember that teacher who bloodied your beloved essays with red marks? That scathing critique partner with ‘helpful advice?’ That insolent editor who didn't even bother to send a form rejection, but scribbled ‘No thanks’ on your query? Well, write to show the bastards! Strong emotions are a great motivation to write. Write to prove them wrong.

We need stories. Naturally, literary snobs would beg to differ, thinking literature is being polluted by uneducated neophytes who have the audacity to write because they have the ability to type their names.

Fortunately, I find their opinions as necessary as Athletes’ foot. Therefore, I implore you to tell your tales in your voice. No copycats please. It doesn’t matter if your prose doesn’t ring like Jane Austen, echo like J. California Cooper, bellow like Mark Twain, sing like JK Rowling’s or linger like Anne Lamott’s. We need stories to survive. Help us.

You get to determine your success. Writing can afford you big and little successes. The poem that brought a smile to your friend’s face, the essay that saved the front page of the neighborhood newsletter, the short story that helped a lonely teenager through a hard time, the novel that opened someone’s mind to a new way of thinking.

Okay, so you may never hit the bestseller’s list, win a National Book Award or any award for that matter. Perhaps only the sky will know your gifts. You’re living a dream few people allow themselves to experience. They talk about writing--some very loudly--but few do it. The world bends to those who proclaim who they are without apology (okay it doesn’t actually bend, but it does bow a little).

Because you must. That’s reason enough for me. I don’t have a style or voice that many know and my work isn’t breaking any records. There are times I want to throw up my hands and say, “Enough! I quit!” And the world sighs with relief, and I sigh feeling in control of my future. I stand up from my desk determined never to return. Then a little voice says... “There was this woman who discovered she was married to the wrong man...”

Missing the imprint stage of puppyhood

Dear Adam:

[From a previous e-mail which questioned why I recommend that dog owners don't try to train their dogs in a group class setting]

Yes, I understand about the imprint stages [two week stages from birth to 4 months of age in which a small amount of exposure will have a lasting affect on the dog's socialization to it's surroundings] but not everybody lives in the ideal world of getting their puppy at 6 to 8 weeks of age.

[The imprint stage when dogs learn dominant and subordinate behavior with other dogs. Missing this stage, or having a negative experience during this stage, can cause dog aggression later in life].

What are you then suggesting happens? There are a lot of people out there that don't know the first thing about dog training. So, all of these theories are great but how would that help somebody that comes to you when their dog is a couple of years old and displays canine aggression?

Regards,

TB

Dear TB:

Here's the deal: I don't have a lot of time to go into detail as this is a subject that could end up being another book. But to fix this type of thing, you need to:

#1: Establish yourself as the pack leader so that the dog respects you and what you say.

#2: Build a strong sit and down stay.

#3: Teach the dog that he must hold the positions around other dogs. It's your responsibility to make sure that the other dogs do not jump on him.

#4: With some dogs, the aggression can only be controlled. Other dogs will get comfortable enough, over time being around other dogs, that it will be eliminated. It really depends on the dog.

#5: The problem with group classes is that there is too much going on for your dog to really learn. Plus, the 10-on-1 nature means that YOUR instruction is lacking. It's a good environment if the dog is ALREADY TRAINED... as you can take advantage of the various distractions. [During the proofing stage, that is]. But for teaching the dog... no way!

And you don't have to trust my opinion. Just look at the caliber of training that you'll find with dogs that come out of group classes. They're substandard compared to dogs and owners that have worked just a few sessions with a competent dog trainer.

That's all for now, folks!

The fear factor in russian business startups

“Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades; they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.” – Bill Gates

In communist or even socialist governments there tends to be lackluster entrepreneurial efforts. The individual wishing to start the business often finds little in the way of ‘vested interest’ in committing their time and talent to something they will never really be able to benefit from.

After the collapse of Russia a new way of thinking was needed to move the country forward. The choice was capitalism and the flint of entrepreneurialism was struck often in an effort to jump-start the economy.

There is a push in Russia to advance the cause of the entrepreneur by providing classes that assist the population in learning how to develop their own business. Reports indicate that other European Universities will see as many as 70% of their higher education centers providing classes on business development.

The idea of being able to create opportunities is leading many Russian citizens to attempt to forge a better life through the mechanism of capitalism by tapping into consumer demand. The end goal is to develop a business that can provide a personal financial boon.

Ironically it is fear in some cases that has promoted the entrepreneurial spirit in Russia. More than simply an interest in fulfilling a dream, these entrepreneurs are fearful they may have very little opportunity unless they discover it on their own. It is the fear of failure that may be the driving force for some of these men and women.

Conversely, in many existing capitalistic cultures it is aspiration that provides the means of motivation. There may be less fear of failure while ambition provides the fuel to reach higher and further to maximize certain goals.

It is interesting that while the goals are separate and distinct, the end result can be similar; the development of a successful business that hinges on a dream.

As Russian Universities continue to offer and develop practical programs for their students, the world is likely to see success in Russian startups.

While some of the entrepreneurial programs have a western tie it is likely the end result will still be uniquely Russian in design and execution adding yet another colorful thread to the tapestry of a global economy.

Your mental scorecard

Like life, winning at golf is a mental challenge.

You should never be too down on yourself for a loss, anymore than you should become arrogant at a few successes.

The game of golf will help you learn to deal with disappointment and shortcomings in other areas of your life.

Don't ever allow yourself to stop enjoying the time you spend with the game. If you begin to find yourself losing your enthusiasm in this situation, take the time to evaluate and determine out what has begun going wrong and take action to correct it immediately.

Once the enjoyment of the game is lost for you, it is difficult to continue play.

It is important in golf as well as in life, to periodically step back and re-evaluate your game. There are an abundance of techniques for this. Some will record their game so that they can watch it in order to evaluate the changes they need to make.

The point is by evaluating your game... I mean to see how well what you are progressing and getting you to the goals that you have set for yourself is a lifelong continual process of a quest for improvement.

It is important that you must set up well thought out attainable goals and milestones along with a specific means of reaching those goals... and a way to track and evaluate your progress.

In order to thoroughly evaluate your game, you will need to review how you play. This involves taking a good look at your previous games and deciding if you have succeeded in meeting the goals you set.

If you have met that goal compensate yourself for a job well done, and review the next goal.

If you havent yet met that goal you will need to evaluate it and determine if it is reachable, and if not, re-set it to a more realistic place.

Determining the reason it was not successful can and will go a long way in evaluating and ultimately improving your game.

Once you have found the reason for the inability to meet the goal you have set, and re-established it, you can once again begin to play and hopefully compensate yourself again as you reach one goal after another.

If you are willing to combine hard work with reachable goals with a strong metal game, your will be a winner at life as well as golf.

The key to protecting your valuable coin collection

Finding the proper place for storing coins is the world’s most important task for all coin collector’s or numismatists, because, for ensuring that the value and quality of their precious coins is well maintained, it is necessary to store them in a secure and good place.

Various kinds of spaces for storage are there, that may be helpful to you for storing the coins and displaying them. The best way to display the coins is by using the albums for coin collection, though folders, plastic tubes or holders, are also dependable storage spaces.

Therefore, if you wish to know the reason, you can access the concept from the following advantages of albums:

1. Viewing two-way images

Since albums allow you to see both the sides of the coins, you get more satisfaction,

while viewing the collections. Each time you wish to see the other side of the coin you do not need to remove them.

Hence, you get best of both the worlds through albums.

2. Improved protection against instant damage

The albums also offer another advantage over other coin storages like folders. The coin collection albums ensure better protection of the coins against destructive elements that can accelerate coin deterioration.

Usually, the plastic materials that ensure protection against natural forces and scratches characterize the use of the albums.

3. A good holder of coins

Pockets for storing coins are provided by albums. Better protection of even the extremely worn out coins, or the “dilapidated” coins, is its best feature.

When worn out coins are kept in folders, they tend to infuriate us by falling repeatedly. However, the coins stay intact in coin collecting albums.

4. Prices variation

The price of the coin collecting albums ranges from $20 to $40, in most cases. Though they may be expensive, they provide a much better storage for your most-precious possessions. It is a wonderful choice to pay for the price for the album, instead of going for the other typical kinds of storage.

5. Center of information

As far as the coin collection is for the purpose your hobby, coin collecting albums also prove to be wonderful “information centers”, as most of the times they have an interior front cover, allowing one to place important, collection related information. The back cover of coin collecting albums provides space for “mintage figures”.

These albums make coin collecting more pleasant and easy. Your treasures tend to last longer, making them more valuable.

Hence, the best coin “keepers” are definitely the coin collecting albums.

The hierarchy of lenders

“You’ve got great credit! We don’t need any documentation. You’re already approved.” Although offers like this sound enticing, their simplicity alone is evidence you’re getting into a bad loan. You see, the lenders who require documentation are also willing to offer better rates. Those who require little or no documentation charge for that luxury through a higher rate. In the end, you’re much better off providing documentation of your financial status and squeezing into the best program you can.

Think about the lending business like a ladder. On the top of the ladder, you’ve got A-paper loan products. We’ve all heard of A-paper loans. Credit is excellent. Income, assets; it’s all there. So those programs are at the very top. In the middle of the ladder, you find what they call Alt-A loan programs or, effectively, the “alternative” to A-paper loan products. Think about it as A-minus paper. Alt-A programs offer expanded guidelines for people who don’t quite qualify for A-paper loans. And on the bottom of the ladder, you’ve got Subprime loan products; programs designed for people with B or C credit. Down there, you can get almost anything approved. The guidelines are much more accommodating and the underwriting process is simpler.

These days, there’s actually a fourth category below Subprime. It’s called Hard Money and those programs don’t even consider the credit of the borrower. Hard Money lenders are only concerned with the value of the property and the size of the loan. They look at a ratio called the Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio. Hard Money lenders assume a default is likely so they’re primarily concerned with ensuring there’s enough equity in the property to fully pay off the loan (plus legal fees, by the way) if the property goes into default and they have to foreclose.

Obviously, the higher up the ladder you get, the better the rates become. Likewise, the further down the ladder you go, the worse the rates become. Effectively, you pay for the luxury of relaxed guidelines with a higher interest rate. On the top of the ladder, you get great rates but they’ll ask you for everything. Income documentation. Bank statements. Good credit. They’ll want an explanation of any large deposits in your bank account. They’ll want a fully documented 2-year employment history. They’ll want good cash reserves sitting in the bank after the deal is done, just in case. In other words, they’ll give you the best rate, but they’ll make darn sure you can make the payments thereafter. Low risk, low rate. High risk, high rate.

The unfortunate reality today is that many Mortgage Brokers gently nudge their clients down the ladder instead of up. It makes their life easier. The guidelines are looser. Getting an approval is easier. They don’t have to provide as much paperwork. Believe me. Getting an A-paper borrower approved in a Subprime loan program is easy. There’s nothing to it. So you get these situations were people are told, “don’t worry about a thing; you’ve got great credit and we don’t need anything else; the loan’s already approved.” Little do these people realize that they’re paying for that luxury with a higher interest rate, and probably a prepayment penalty too.

The point is that you want to work with someone who pushes you up the ladder, not down. You want someone who will instinctively look for ways to squeeze you into the best possible program they can. You want someone who’ll be a pain in the neck, asking for all kinds of documentation. That way, you know they’re trying to get you into a strict program. Now, of course the better Mortgage Brokers will have a system in place where they can request and itemize everything they need right at the beginning, making the rest of the process simpler and smoother. But don’t get too annoyed if your Mortgage Broker keeps asking for more. Generally speaking, it’s a good sign.

Trust me. Nobody wants to ask for all that stuff. It’s frustrating and it can be embarrassing if he forgot to ask for something at the beginning. But he obviously submitted your application to a strict program and if he doesn’t get that documentation, the underwriters will not approval that particular loan program. It’s that simple. So exercise some patience and heed his request. When everything’s signed, sealed and delivered, the only thing you’ll remember is the rate. You won’t remember the extra bank statement. You won’t remember the explanation letter. You’ll only remember the rate. And if your rate is lower than your friend’s rate or your neighbor’s rate, you’ll feel good about the loan you got.

In an earlier article entitled “The Source of Mortgage Money”, we talked about the fact that a lot of money has been accumulating over the past 25 years or so. The result of all this cash accumulation has been two fold. First, we’ve seen interest rates drop pretty steadily ever since 1982. Second, we’ve seen a lot of new and innovative loan programs being offered. Both of these realities are fueled by the competitive process as lenders compete for a limited number of borrowers. They’re all trying to give you a reason to borrow the money from them, rather than their competition.

Twenty years ago, the only available type of loan program was a traditional 30-year fixed A-paper loan. Period. That was it. And you had to have great credit, sufficient income and a 20% down payment to get it. So all the homeowners in the country fit right up at the top of the ladder. All homeowners were A-paper borrowers. There was no such thing as Alt-A or Subprime programs. They didn’t exist.

Over the years, as the amount of investment capital increased, the lending business got more competitive and some lenders started offering programs with looser guidelines. They started offering what are now known as Alt-A loan programs. This really started picking up speed about 15 years ago. More time passed and some lenders started relaxing the guidelines even further. They started offering what we now call Subprime programs; programs that started gaining in popularity maybe 7 or 8 years ago. And in the past few years, we’re seeing more and more people in the Hard Money area. The obvious trend is that the competitive pressures in the industry have resulted in a dramatic widening of programs available.

So, let’s talk about the Subprime category for a minute. For our purposes here, that’s the bottom of the ladder since Hard Money programs really only apply to refinance transactions with very low LTV ratios, and those situations aren’t actually that common. Most of the loan programs in the Subprime category are fixed for only two years. Some for three but most for two. After that, the rate is calculated as an index plus some predetermined margin.

In most cases, the addition of the index plus margin is two or even three percentage points higher than the starting rate. If the starting rate is 6%, the index plus margin might be as high as 8 or 9%. And that’s not all. Many of these loan programs have an Interest Only option to lower the payment but that option usually expires after two years as well. So when the fixed rate expires after the first two years, the rate jumps up two or three percentage points and the Interest Only option disappears at the same time. That means the payment could easily double at that point.

It gets worse. Most of these programs come with a two-year prepayment penalty to boot. So the borrower is completely stuck between a rock and a hard place. Their payment will likely double after two years but they can’t really do anything until those two years pass, unless they want to pay a huge prepayment penalty. So the reality is that these people better start working on a refinance in the 23rd month, one month before their two-year anniversary, so they can close on the new loan one or two days after the prepayment penalty expires. If they don’t, they’ll be stuck with a huge payment shock and may lose their house in the process.

It all sounds pretty bad, doesn’t it? Sure it does. But not so fast. After discussing the obvious downsides of Subprime loans, we cannot villainize them entirely. What we’re talking about here are loan programs that give people an opportunity to buy a home; people who never could’ve qualified to buy a home just 10 years ago. No way. I recently did a purchase transaction here in the Bay Area for a woman who did 100% financing with a 577 credit score; a 577 credit score! That’s incredible! There is no way that woman could’ve bought a home with a 577 credit score back in 1995. No possible way.

And it’s programs like this that increase the demand for homes; demand that props up the values of your home too. The US Department of Housing and Urban Development estimated homeownership to be at 68.6% back in late 2003. The only reason homeownership is that high is because these new flexible loan programs give people an opportunity to buy homes; people who couldn’t have done so otherwise. That increases demand, propping up the value of all homes, including yours and mine. These Subprime loan programs have a downside for sure. No doubt. You have to be careful. But they also provide real value. They serve a purpose.

Here’s the scoop. If you use one of these Subprime loan programs to get into a house or refinance your existing house, go ahead. But you’ve got two years; two years to clean up your situation so you can start climbing that ladder when you’re forced to refinance two years down the road. You’ve got two years to clean it up. And if you don’t, you’ll have to go through the cycle again. You get a two-year window each time you go through the cycle. And every time you leave things the way they are, you’ll be forced to do it again. The only person who benefits from this cycle is your Mortgage Broker. They make money each time you refinance. You don’t benefit. It doesn’t matter what anybody tells you, refinancing costs money. It’s that simple. Refinancing costs money. And your Mortgage Broker will be thrilled that he can do another loan for you but it certainly won’t leave you any better off, that’s for sure.

Let me quickly distinguish between this example and the recent refinance boom. If rates are dropping and it’s possible to refinance your mortgage at a lower rate, even considering the fees involved, go crazy. Refinance all you like. Your Mortgage Broker will be making money but you’ll be benefiting as well. But the refinance boom is over. It ended in 2004 and the opportunities to simply refinance into a lower rate are few and far between.

What I’m discussing here is a situation where the loan program forces you to refinance to avoid a huge payment shock. In that situation, you need to prepare yourself so you can get into a better program next time; a program that might be fixed for a longer period of time, or one that doesn’t have a prepayment penalty, or one that provides a longer Interest Only option, or one with a lower margin. In order to do that, you have to climb that ladder and get above the Subprime category.

There are plenty of things you can do to start climbing that ladder and they all fall under one of three headings: credit, income and assets. Those are the three pillars of the underwriting process and will be discussed in a separate article. In the meantime, an understanding of the hierarchy of lenders discussed here is the first step to improving your financial profile in the future.

Going for a drive with your dog - precautions every dog owner should take to heart

Riding in a car is a treat for most dogs, especially if they are driven to an enjoyable destination. Even if you only take your dog to the local shopping center, they outing will add a little variety to his daily life and widen his horizons.

All pet dogs should be car-trained as puppies. Many of them ride in a car the first time when they are taken to their new home, which leaves and uncertain impression that is partly pleasant and partly scary, since it involves an upheaval in their lives. So make your new puppy's next drive reassuring, like a short trip to some pleasant playground, or simply a 5 or 10 minute spin around the neighborhood before returning to the security of home.

Always wait several hours after a full meal before taking your dog for a drive. Make him ride in the back seat, never on your lap when you are driving. You might cover the seat with an old blanket, well tucked in. Plastic is good protection for the upholstery, but is too slippery a footing for a dog. Many dogs enjoy looking out of the window, and if you lower it a few inches they can also enjoy the passing scents.

Small dogs get less pleasure from drives because they seldom see anything but the interior of the car. Many of them simply curl up and go to sleep. Small dogs are also more prone to car sicknesses, probably because they don't have the visual distractions of larger dogs. Some owners find that if you keep the dog's enthusiasm high, they won't be bothered by the cars movement.

You should never leave your dog alone in the car. But if you have to in a emergency, (hopefully for only a few minutes), be sure to:

- Lock the cars doors and leave two windows open a few inches.

- Park your car in a shady place, remembering the sun moves and that your shady spot may turn into a furnace later.

- Never leave your dog in the car in an underground parking place or in a closed garage, and again, never anywhere for a long time.

Old dogs that have trouble moving around, like elderly people benefit the most from going for a drive, as it helps to keep them alert and interested in the outside world when their daily lives have become more restricted. If your dog is one of the youngsters who gets a thrill from riding in the car, dashes to your side as soon as he hears the tinkle of the car keys, and sometimes even tries to stow away, try to give him this simple treat whenever possible. But remember that it is a passing diversion, and not a substitute for exercise and play.

Hello from montreal - part 11 - a chat with andr╨т giroux owner of ╨рa roule bicyle rentals

July 1, 2006

had thoroughly enjoyed my guided bicycle tour with Зa Roule and Bruno, a licensed city guide from Guidatour, really introduced Montreal up close to us. And my own independent explorations of the bicyle trail along the Lachine Canal introduced me to a side of Montreal I had never been exposed to. After returning my bike after a full day of exercise I wanted to find out a bit more about who is behind this operation, Зa Roule, or Montreal on Wheels, as it is known in English.

Montreal, by the way, is a fabulous city to explore by bicycle. The Old Port area, the bicycle path network along the Lachine Canal and alongside the St. Lawrence River, as well as the islands of Ile St. Hйlиne and Parc Jean Drapeau in the St. Lawrence are eminently bikeable. Of course the trail network on Mont Royal also adds some interesting terrain for cycling enthusiasts and many of Montreal's quaint neighbourhoods lend themselves perfectly to be discovered en vйlo. Montreal was actually voted the number 1 city for bicyclists in 1999 by Bicycling magazine.

Зa Roule is a Bicycle Rental and Touring Shop located on the harbourfront boulevard at 27 De La Commune Est. Andrй Giroux, the owner, created this company 12 years ago. He originally studied law and spent 7 years as a lawyer, specialized in litigation and legal consulting for large real estate developers. As an avid sports person, Andrй plays hockey and tennis and he really enjoys cycling and in 1994 he decided to open a small rental store that initially focused on renting roller blades, a big craze in the mid 1990s. His original stable of equipment also included 12 bicycles. In the meantime his fleet has grown to more than 70 bicycles which include touring bikes, tandems, trail bikes, electric bikes and electric scooters. His store also rents kids trailers and child carriers.

I asked him what the name “Зa Roule" actually means and he explained that this French phrase literally means “it’s rolling”, but is generally understood as “it’s going well”, “it’s running well”. He explained that his store specializes in customer service, his staff is knowledgeable, and they are available to provide advice on all sorts of biking activities in and around Montreal. Everyone gets outfitted with a city-wide cycling map and a free bottle of water is included in every tour.

His customers come from all over the world including the USA, the rest of Canada and a wide variety of European countries. Even Australian, Korean and Japanese travelers rent muscle-powered equipment from him and many of his clients are referred by hotels and the Montreal Tourist Office. In addition he also offers bicycle repairs and some of his repair clients are part of the 3500 permanent residents that now live in Old Montreal, or employees that work in Old Montreal and commute there by bicycle.

Зa Rule has six staff members: two bicycle repair technicians and four tour leaders. Recently he has started to collaborate with Guidatour and both companies combined have developed an Official City Tour By Bike that is led by a licensed tour guide. This morning I participated in this official city tour and in my opinion exploring a city by bike has to be one of the best ways of discovering a new place.

In any northern country, the bicycling business is seasonal, and the high season at Зa Roule goes from May to October, sometimes stretching into November, depending on the weather. During the winter Andrй works on updating the website and preparing the strategies for the next business years and last year he had a chance to go to Florida for 3 weeks. During the summer the shop is very busy and Andrй and his staff members work very had, but he tries to go out bicycling himself in the evenings between 7 and 8 pm. He loves to cycle over to Montreal’s islands: Ile St. Hйlиne and Jean Drapeau Park.

Andrй also pointed out that Зa Roule is able to offer customized bicycle tours. One time a group of people asked to start a tour on top of Mont Royal. So he rented a cargo van and carted several bikes up to the top of the mountain so the tour group could start their ride at their intended starting point. All sorts of special assignments can be done, they might just require a bit of notice to organize.

With all this exercise I was ready for a very solid dinner, so I thanked Andrй for his time and for putting on the Official Guide City Tour, one of the best ways of getting to know the city and continued my explorations of Montreal on this Canada Day.

Is obesity a world wide problem

Obesity is a world wide problem. Scientist across our nations is consumed with studying this problem. In just the last decade, obesity seems to be the problem that's causing most of the diseases. It is no longer uncommon to find diseases like diabetes hitting kids. According to recent studies there are millions of kids below 18 who are getting diseases like diabetes. What shocked me the other day was a heart attack of a 22yr old boy. It scared me. With the growing rate of diseases, it seems like reaching the age of 50 in good health seems impossible for some of us.

The need of the hours is weight loss, rapid weight loss. Many people are resorting liposuction and other surgeries. I do not recommend going under the knife. I believe the best way to lose weight is to have a healthy diet and to exercise regularly. I do not recommend pills either. Obesity is a very treatable disease which does not require any kind of medication.

The first step in dealing with your obesity problem is recognizing you have a problem and realizing you need to do something about it. Some people are able to admit this fast enough while still others find it very difficult. Obesity is not always life threatening but if not taken care of it can become lethal. After realizing you have a problem, the nest step is to do something about it. You can choose what your next step will be, be it dieting, surgery, pills, gyming, exercising at home etc.

I recommend exercise. One of the most unconventional types of exercise is dancing. It may sound silly but it works. I have done this form of exercise and was surprised by the weight I lost. For women, I recommend you dance using high heels. It is a great way of exercising. You begin to sweat in just a few minutes. The famous Hollywood actress Kristie Alley knocked of most of her extra pounds doing this form of exercise. She now looks better than ever and is indeed still sexy and appealing to the opposite sex.

Dancing raises your heart rate whish is good. It also tones and tightens your muscles. Dancing helps you burn a lot of calories. You can lose as much or more calories dancing as compared to swimming, walking or riding a bike. Most of us hate the idea of exercising, it just doesn't seem fun. Dancing is unlike any other exercise. It is fun. You get to choose your music and dance according to it. Due its unconventional form, this method of exercise is very appealing. Since dancing does not involve only repeating the same steps again and again, it isn't monotonous. It doesn't seem like a routine and hence is the perfect option for exercise. Mind you, results are ever so fast. I recommend hip hop since the beats are fast and force you to dance fast. Every half hour of dancing will make you shed a few pounds. Go ahead and give this a shot. Dance your way into becoming slim and sexy.

Buying a new car

:
Buying a new car is one of the largest purchases most people make in their lives. Therefore, it is worth taking care and making sure the deal you get is the best possible.

Financing

If you need to obtain credit to fund the purchase of the car, you should be aware that the financing offered by the dealer is often not the best deal you can get. If you shop around for loans you may get financing at a much better rate. You should compare the annal percentage rate (APR) as well as the length of the loan and the amount of monthly repayments. Always look at the total amount repayable and compare this to the price of the car to see the cost of the finance.

Sometimes, dealers will offer you a very good financing rate on specific models that qualify. It may not be possible to negotiate on the price of these models and you should check to see if this is cheaper than buying another model that can be negotiated.

Make sure you have a copy of the contract and before you leave the lot, evaluate whether the repayment terms in it are affordable. If the dealer asks you to buy credit insurance, you should add this into the price and see if the car is still attractive. You should also check your existing insurance policies as you may be covered already under another policy.

If you are considering a trade in, bring it up only after you have already negotiated the best possible price for the car you want. You should also research the value of your old car so that you know what it is worth. This information will help you see what the dealer is effectively offering you for your old car and if it is a fair price.

If you are considering a service contract you should be clear on what it offers. They have many exemptions and you will already have some cover from the manufacturer’s warranty which is included in the cost of the car. You should certainly ask the following questions:

  • What does it offer over and above the warranty?
  • What repairs are covered?
  • Is routine maintenance recovered?
  • Will they pay for parts, labor or both?
  • Who performs the work?
  • How long does the contract last and what are the cancellation and refund policies?
  • Getting the most from your credit card rewards

Several credit card companies today are offering their customers credit card rewards for being loyal customers. This gives the cardholder the chance to earn points to gain all kinds of prizes. These incentives are great ways to keep customers loyal and using their rewards credit card to earn more points to receive their prizes faster. The more points you earn the more you can receive in the way of prizes they offer. The credit card companies understand that when their loyal customers use their cards more often they are also making more profit, so the system works for everyone involved.

There are many different types of rewards credit cards available. Some offer cash back, which gives the cardholder a certain percentage back from the amount that they spend. This is normally done either monthly or yearly. This can be a great way for person that do not wish to earn points for prizes but would enjoy the cash to spend anyway they desire.

Other credit card rewards are in either a point system or air miles. These types of credit card rewards give you a certain amount of points or air miles for every dollar or two dollars that you charge with your rewards credit card. These points or air miles can then be transferred into free airline tickets, hotel accommodations, and car rentals. However, these are more for people that fly often. The miles normally expire within one year, so if you do not fly but once or twice a year the benefit will not be profitable.

There are some other forms of prizes as well for credit card rewards such as gasoline purchases, etc…

To get the most from your credit card rewards you have to, of course, use them. Many people never redeem their points for their rewards. Credit card companies cannot believe the amount of people that never receive their prizes after accumulating enough points to reap the rewards. The important thing to remember is if you are not holding a cash back credit card you will have to contact the credit card company that issued the credit card, so you can claim your rewards. The problem is many people just do not take out the time from their busy life to redeem their points from their rewards credit card program.

However, if you pay attention and just spend a little bit of time you will soon be enjoying the prizes that you can claim with credit card rewards. All you have to do is to use your card instead of using cash, pay off your balance before you have to pay interest and you will be earning points. Now, you are very close to receiving a wonderful thank you from the credit card company.

Quit being one of those people that just forget about their credit card rewards and contact the company once you have enough points for the prize that you wish. You may have enough air miles accumulated to take the entire family on a great vacation and not have to pay for airline tickets!

    Make money online using amazon

Not many people know this, but you can actually make money online using Amazon.

Amazon have set up an affiliate program (they call it the “Amazon Associates Program”). The theory behind the Amazon Associates program is amazingly simple. By sending traffic to the Amazon website, you will earn a commission (between 5%-10%) on all of the sales that result from any visitors that you send.

This is great because it means you do not have to get involved in product fulfillment. You have no stock to store, you don’t have to pick and ship orders and, perhaps most importantly of all, you don’t need to get involved in any customer service activities. All you have to do is be purely a marketing machine and send traffic to Amazon’s site.

Of course, the real trick – in fact the key to making this all work - is to send traffic to the Amazon site at a cost that is less than the revenue you receive from Amazon. If you are able to do that, then you can definitely make a tidy profit in the process.

Now, there are a number of options open to you for creating traffic. You can create traffic for free by writing articles, creating your own blog or even by setting up a website of your own and going through the lengthy process of optimizing your website for the search engines so that your website is listed near the top of the search results. These three methods are time consuming, but they will get you results if you stick with them.

Another way of generating traffic, which unfortunately is not free, is to create advertising campaigns using one of the many pay-per-click options that exist. This basically means using Google Adwords or the similar services offered by Yahoo! and MSN.

If you hadn’t already noticed, every time you do a search in Google, you will see a series of paid advertisements down the right-hand-side. You can create adverts that will be displayed when the user types in specific search terms.

So you can pick specific products from the Amazon website to promote and set up a specific pay-per-click campaign for each of these products. Each time the user clicks on one of your adverts, Google will charge you for the click, hence the term pay-per-click. You, in turn, point the user to Amazon’s website. If this whole process costs you less than the commission you receive, then you make a profit.

    Simple as that!

Well, not quite. But help is at hand. If you are interested in learning how it is possible to make good money as an Amazon Affiliate, visit my website now for more information.

Look before you spend think before you splurge

Managing money would have been so much easier if these pesky little expenses did not keep popping up! The best that one can do is to put away all one's savings in a bank for the future and try to not to go overboard with one's spending. . Today when stores sell products and services on credit and one can faces no problems in shopping with a credit card; we can clearly see how spending limits have increased. Thanks to credit cards, the buyer can put off thinking about payments for the purchase for over a month. It is a little like magic. Spend now, pay never! Well, not really never, as you do have to pay at the end of the month. Thus, if such a person makes a purchase which he really cannot afford, he will be going beyond his means by inviting a debt that he will need to repay. Spending money that you do not have is one of the most common mistakes that people make. And, as we all know, it is a mistake that comes with a heavy price. Sometimes it is that fashionable dress, at other times it is a gizmo. We run up credit card bills with gay abandon.

I think of being perpetually indebted as the same as being perpetually ill. This illness called debt drains you of all energy and always burdens you. Often you feel you are just on the threshold of getting out of it, but you do not.

On the same not, health related expenses can run up a high bill. Such expenses can leave us in debt for years to come because we were not prepared for them. Borrowing money or taking loans would be yet another way of landing up in a debt trap. These debt burdens could end up haunting us for a long while till we manage to repay them all. It is very easy to spend or borrow money, but when the time comes to repay this money, that is when we all start feeling the pinch. It is then that we start regretting having spent as much as we did. Of course, what takes the cake, when it comes to going bankrupt is losing money by gambling it away. The possibility of winning a gamble does exist. But there have been many a fool who thought he could count cards better.

Getting out of debt is really tough, but not impossible. However, one should remember that getting into debt is a lot easier than getting out of it. Keeping close watch over the expenditure on a daily basis will give you an idea of where the money is vanishing. Another mode would be to stop using credit cards. This will bring down your debt burdens drastically. But avoiding impulsive shopping is easier said than done. If you have an EMI or a loan that needs to be repaid, consolidate the information and get in touch with the lenders. Keep them in the loop. Get a schedule for repayment.

Softball bat what is the right bat for you

You can see them all around the Softball park, swinging their bats, hitting at imaginary targets and sometimes practicing at objects, improving their strength all the time. The force behind the swing of the batters can be tremendous. The truth is, it is not the strength behind the swing that only matters. It is also the kind of bat one uses.

How to pick the right bat?

    The Length

To pick the correct bat length, the bat should be long enough to reach your wrist when you are standing straight with arms on your size. With the tip of the bat touching the ground to your wrist will very most likely the most comfortable bat length that you can pick.

    The Weight

Every softball player has his own individual requirement especially when it comes to carrying out weights. The rule of the thumb when picking the correct bat weight is to try out the bat first. See if the player can swing the bat comfortably and control the swing with both hands without strain. The bat has to be the heaviest that the player can swing without loss of speed. If the bat does not fall into these categories, look for another one. It does not matter if the bat chosen is the most expensive and the most beautifully crafted with the most advanced material. If the player will be sacrificing these, the player will only be having a good top of the line, technically crafted bat. You can not say that for his swings.

Whatever the case, always take a bat that is light. Lighter bats can be swung faster and the resulting distance could be farther.

Having said that, here are ways to pick legal bats.

Advancement in technology has created bats where the softball bats can fit and be comfortably swung by players of all ages and built. Even the less technically proficient can today, swing the softball bat and hit the ball at speeds that can pose a serious problem with the pitcher and the infielders. Technically advanced bats can also ruin the game, as players would rely more and more on the more expensive multiple alloys instead of having fun and developing the skill. For these reasons, many softball organizations started banning specific bats and having guidelines for softball bat specifications. Some of these standards are:

The BTF or the Bat Performance Factor has to be 1.20 certified.

The Ball to Exit Ratio has to have a 97-MPH BESR on a normally thrown pitch.

The bats must have a smooth safety grip not just tapes.

The ideal softball bat in the hands of a good player translates to the game Americans love. To prepare for a good batting positions here are a few suggestions:

Loosen up. Twist back and forth, bend up and down, do a stationary jog, do anything to loosen up the muscles. If you have a good bat speed, fluidity in movement will give you the power.

Use a carbon based softball bat. Carbons perform better than aluminum.

When you are batting, distribute your weight on both feet. When the ball is in the level between your shoulders and your chest, hit it. Hitting the ball in that position is just giving it another direction. The power that you smash it with will give it the distance.

Finding a good hotel cheap - 6 essential tips

Do you really want a cheap hotel? Dirty carpets, smelly bathrooms, no hot water and greasy food. Unlikely.

You are really looking for a good hotel, cheap.

Why pay more than you have to for your hotel? If you search for a particular hotel on any search engine you will find wide a range of prices for the same room. You do not want a cheap hotel so much as a good hotel for the minimum cost, so YOU are the one paying the lowest rate in the hotel.

    1. Choose a hotel based on recommendations.

Personal recommendations are not always possible, but look for booking sites that have a customer comments page. The reports are well worth checking out. They are usually short and people only bother if they have had a particularly good stay or if they have unfavorable comments to make. Comments like - Bathroom had smell of urine in the carpet, tell you far more than a glossy brochure or website ever could.

    2. Use the Internet

The Internet allows you to compare prices, facilities and meal packages far more easily than was ever possible before.

    3. Be flexible in dates

If you are flexible in dates, hotels or room facilities you can indeed drive a deal. Avoid Weekend travel, stay midweek, and at all costs, avoid school holiday periods.

    4. Be flexible in location

If you are prepared to stay in less popular cities or on the outskirts rather than the city center you will get a better deal.

5.Check the Airline and Car rental company sites

The airline or rental company get a kickback (commission) from the hotels yet their deals can still be some of the best around.

    6. Look out for last minute deals

If you can do so, and all you are looking for is a break away, then check out the Internet for last minute deals. These offer outstanding value.

Remember - It is not a cheap hotel you are looking for so much as a good hotel, cheap.

General tips for seeking the paranormal from professional ghost hunters

There has been an enormous upsurge in the interest of paranormal phenomena in recent years. There have been many causes speculated, from the weakening of the base of traditional western Judeo-Christian spirituality to a reaction to the mobility of American society manifest as a longing to commune with long dead ancestors. While the psychologists and sociologists continue to debate the issue, the popularity of so called ghost hunting continues to rise. For those who believe in such paranormal phenomena and are seeking to strike out on their own, consider this advice from top ghost hunters.

First, be sure to receive training from qualified ghost hunters before striking out on your own. According to professional ghost hunters, those who attempt to make contact with spirits without being reasonably prepared are at a risk to incur damage, either physically or, more likely, psychologically. While some ghost hunters argue over whether or not spirits can physically harm humans, there is a strong consensus that an encounter for one who is not psychologically ready can leave lasting mental and emotional scars. Most physical injury is caused by amateur ghost hunters fleeing the scene in the dark and running into or tripping over unseen obstacles.

Seasoned ghost hunters suggest that you case the scene in the daylight before returning at night. Having a mental map of the area will help you to keep your bearings in the dark and can help you avoid injury. Ghost hunters say that knowing the lay of the land is also helpful in case the situation becomes uncomfortable and you feel the need to quickly retreat. Being certain of the path out of the encounter area can lead to a feeling of greater control over the situation and can reduce the feelings of fear and panic that can occur. Keep your mind open and discover the darkness.

What is the difference between a worm virus and trojan horse

Tips and recommendations for protecting your PC...

Most of us don't make a real difference between worm, virus and Trajan Horse or refer to a worm or Trajan Horse as a virus.

All of us know all are malicious programs that can cause very serious damage to PC. Exist differences among the three, and knowing those differences can help you to better protect your computer from their often damaging effects.

A computer virus is a program or piece of code that is loaded onto your computer without your knowledge and runs against your wishes. Some viruses cause only mildly annoying effects while others can damage your hardware, software or files. Almost all viruses are attached to an executable file, which means the virus may exist on your computer but it cannot infect your computer unless you run or open the malicious program. A virus cannot be spread without a human action, (such as running an infected program) to keep it going. People continue the spread of a computer virus, mostly unknowingly, by sharing infecting files or sending e-mails with viruses as attachments in the e-mail.

A worm is a program or algorithm that replicates itself. A worm has the capability to travel without any help from a person from PC to PC and have ability to replicate itself on your system, so rather than your computer sending out a single worm, it could send out hundreds or thousands of copies of itself, creating a huge devastating effect.

A Trojan Horse is a destructive program that "working" as a benign application ( (like changing your desktop, adding silly active desktop icons) or can cause serious damage by deleting files and destroying information on your system. Trojans are also known to create a back door on your computer that gives malicious users access to your system, possibly allowing confidential or personal information to be compromised. Trojans do not reproduce by infecting other files nor do they self-replicate.

Added into the mix, we also have what is called a blended threat. Blended threats combine the characteristics of viruses, worms, Trojan Horses, and malicious code with server and Internet vulnerabilities. By using multiple methods and techniques, blended threats can rapidly spread and cause widespread damage. Characteristics of blended threats include: causes harm, propagates by multiple methods, attacks from multiple points, and exploits vulnerabilities. This combination of method and techniques means blended threats can spread quickly and cause widespread damage. Characteristics of blended threats include: causes harm, propagates by multiple methods, attacks from multiple points and exploits vulnerabilities. They are considered to be the worst risk to security since the inception of viruses, as most blended threats require no human intervention to propagate.

Therefore is very important to protect your PC with a good anti-virus software installed on your system with the latest fixes for new viruses, worms, and Trojan horses.

Additionally, you want to make sure your anti-virus program has the ability to scan e-mail and files as they are downloaded from the Internet. This will help prevent malicious programs from even reaching your computer. You should also install a a system that prevents unauthorized use and access to your computer (firewall as well). A good software firewall will protect your computer from outside attempts to control or gain access your computer, and usually provides additional protection against the most common Trojan programs or e-mail worms.

Are you missing the key to success

Are you currently struggling to reach your objectives? Do you have everything in life that you desire? Is it easy for you to reach your goals after every success? Are you calm and patient at all times? Or, are you frustrated, angry and disappointed at your lack of progress in life? If you are not living the life you wish to live then the solution lies in your mind!

Your mind has two parts, the conscious thinking logical part and the unconscious part. Your conscious mind is that part of your mind you are using right now to read and analyse this words. However it is the subconscious part of your mind that is interpreting the symbols on the page and telling you what they represent. This part of your mind is more powerful than you can imagine and is capable of helping you in ways that seem miraculous at times.

Everything that has ever ocurred in your life is stored somewhere in the subconscious part of your mind. It is literally an unlimited warehouse for memories and emotions. This is an extremely important aspect of the subconscious mind. You need to have instant access to this stored information so that you can find your way home, remember names and faces, how to do your job etc., it does have major disadvantages!

Not only does your subconscious mind store valuable information it also stores essential emotions. For example it stores the emotion of pain and fear connected to certain activities such as placing your hand too close to fire. When you find yourself getting too close to fire and feel the heat on your skin your subconscious mind will immediately alert you with a feeling of fear. This mechanism is designed to keep you safe and works very effectively. It also works to your advantage by replaying positive emotions connected to certain situations - think of a time when you caught a glimpse of your spouse or child, heard a piece of music or smelt some perfume or aftershave and were immediately reminded of an earlier time that evoked strong loving emotions.

Therefore, we can view your subconscious mind as acting, in its simplest role, as a recording and playback mechanism - a bit like a fully interactive video recorder. The things that occur to you in your life are recorded and then played back when you access those memories. The problem that often arises though is when incorrect or inappropriate emotional memories are accessed by the subconscious mind when you find yourself in new situations. If your subconscious mind has been "programmed" with negative emotions or a negative self-image then these are the things it will play back to you when you try something new or reach out past your comfort zone.

There is another problem with this mechanism that is rarely addressed by the self improvement industry and hypnosis communities when they seek to change this negative subconscious programming. Although they will admit that the subconscious mind is mostly a playback system of past events, they rely too heavily on the reprogramming of this mind with positive beliefs and do not address the other, just as important, issue.

If the subconscious mind is just a playback device, and it replays past emotions in new situations, then it is obvious we need to ensure it is playing back positive supportive emotions and thoughts when we undertake any new venture. But what about the other problem? How do we address that?

Well the problem is this; if the subconscious mind is a playback device and we want to do something new how can it help us do it when it has no knowledge of what it is doing? Let me explain.

You set a goal to make $2,000 per week. You set about writing your goal and affirming your intentions, visualizing, using self hypnosis, and a myriad of other techniques, to reprogram your mind for success. However, you are only doing half the job, albeit a very important half but only half all the same!

If the subconscious mind is merely a playback mechanism and you set an intention to create something you have never created before it will merely playback everything you know about that subject - which is probably very little! Let's look at our financial example again.

You want to make $2,000 per week yet you have only ever made $400 per week. You use your self improvement techniques daily and quickly reprogram your mind for success thinking. Now you find yourself full of confidence and enthusiasm for your objectives. Great! You are in the right mind-set for success. The problem arises when you begin to think about making the extra money. When you quiz yourself about how you can actually go about doing that your subconscious mind will play back everything it knows about how to make money. You will probably immediately think that you need to get a higher paying job, work more hours, take on an extra job etc.

Although you have successfully programmed your mind for success your mind does not yet have the knowledge or experience of how it can actually go about creating the success you desire!

There are two ways to overcome this problem. The first is to acquaint yourself with as much knowledge as you can about making money. This is a great thing to do. You can study the lives of people who started in similar situations to you and increased their net worth and determine if their way of doing it would suite you. I highly recommend this approach even if you find it easy to reach your new goal with your new positive outlook.

However, there is another way. It is easier and faster and always works. As well as programming yourself for success you must deprogram your old negative beliefs and, (here is the key) your limiting programming!

When you remove your self-imposed limitations - i. e. I have to work extra hours, take a second job, get a higher paying job etc., to increase my earnings - you will find inspiration coming to you. You don't have to reprogram these limiting beliefs with new ones all you have to do is deprogram them and let your mind do the rest!

As your subconscious mind is no longer replaying everything it knows about making money it must seek new answers from somewhere else! As you deprogram your limiting beliefs and emotions you will become more aware of the possibilities that are all around you. Your intuition will be more accessible to you and you will find yourself almost effortlessly drifting into new, exciting and highly profitable opportunities.

Deprogramming your limiting beliefs is much easier than you think and the results you experience will be many thousands of times greater than if you just concentrate on creating new beliefs through traditional personal development techniques! Try it, you may just be surprised.

Home schooling disadvantages are you sure you re ready

Many parents eager to begin home schooling their children have though long and hard about the benefits home schooling will bring to their children. But unfortunately they often fail to consider the home schooling disadvantages which can also play a big part in their children’s academic and social development.

While parents may love the idea of allowing their kids to learn at their own pace without being pressured to keep up or labeled “dummies” if they need to spend more time than most of their classmates in mastering a subject, one of the home schooling disadvantages which they may not be factoring into their home schooling decision is whether or not their skills as teachers are up to helping their kids learn difficult material.

One of the biggest home schooling disadvantages is that a parent will be completely responsible for designing his or her children’s schedule, curriculum, and the moral and social values to be instilled in them as a part of their education. That sort of responsibility will extend well past the hours in which a parent and kids are actively engaged in home school.

The Time Involved In Home Schooling

A home schooling parent will have to spend time before and after class researching and organizing a curriculum which meets the home schooling standards in their school district, and also plan the class time activities which will make the material interesting for the kids. Parents with kids in different grades will have to come up with a unique curriculum and activities for all of them.

Another possible home schooling disadvantages is the when the home schooling is done by a parent, a family which had been used to having two incomes will now have to get by on a single one, unless the parents are hiring a tutor to home school their kids. If a tutor is involved, the parents may be concerned about how well the kids are progressing in their absence.

Home schooling disadvantages also extend into the social area. A school classroom is not merely a place where children advance academically; it is their introduction to learning social interaction skills. Learning to interact with children other than their brothers and sisters is important for every child, because almost the entire world is unrelated to them. For more info see homeschoolresults. com/Articles/Florida_Home_Schooling. php on Florida Home Schooling.

A big part of becoming truly educated comes from being exposed to, and learning to accept, those whose viewpoints may conflict with your own. A home schooled child may not get a chance to develop that level of tolerance.
