Number one, if you’re not sure of your company or stability, perhaps you have a good reason to quit. But for the 90% of you out there who are sold on your company or opportunity, I have one message: Don't quit!

The online opportunity I'm involved with has over 20 years of online experience, and they were the first affiliate program ever offered online, so they have quite an immaculate background. But, even though that's true, it still takes me "work" to make it happen. Greg Ankeny, one of the top health company MLM leaders has been quoted as saying: "I went to work."

That's the problem and herein lays the solution. Most people quit MLM's because they are not willing to go to work or to keep on working. Comments like: "Oh, this is too hard, and oh, I didn't know I'd have to talk to people, are running rampant in MLM. Yes you have to talk to people, yes you have to follow your companies marketing plan, to the tee, doing everything your leaders tell you to do, and then you may just end up getting rich!

The internet today keeps making it easier and easier to market your online business, but yet it's amazing when you look at the statistics that fewer than 5% of those who join MLM's actually ever advertise online! Isn't that interesting? Even with the advent of cheap or low cost free ads, forums, pay-per-click advertising, and much more, people are still afraid to step out and just let others know about their site. That's just crazy!

So how do we stop this nonsense?

It's easy; I need all of you out there who are in an MLM, or looking for an MLM home business, to do three things. Number one never quit. Number two; find an online business that you love. Number three, when things get tough in your home business, I want you to remember the accomplishments in your life. For example, did you ever win an award for selling something, did you obtain a diploma your proud of, and did you win the Congressional Medal of Honor?

Just simply thinking of your prior accomplishments in life may indeed help you to hang on to this awesome MLM online business opportunity you've been blessed to participate and succeed in. In conclusion, my hope and prayer is that someone will read this article that is about to quit their MLM, or who needs a stable MLM home business, and they will make the choice to do one thing: Never quit. Why do the Ironman Triathlon?

I've lost track of how many times over the years I've been asked why I commit so much of my time to preparing for yet another Ironman.

For a long time I found it difficult to come up with a reasonable response, because often I wasn't sure myself. I think what makes it difficult, is goals change as the years pass and so would the answer to the question.

At first like so many others, I was "Ironstruck". When I first saw this event I was drawn toward it and made the decision that I just had to cross that finish line. Despite the fact that I couldn't swim a stroke and had never been on a racing bike I was compelled by some unseen force to do this race.

Once I consciously made the decision, there was no turning back and my life took on a new direction. It was easily the most important and life-changing decision I have ever made. It touched every single aspect of my life.

At 56 years old I don't plan to do an Ironman every year from this point on. However I've learned from my long Ironman career how important maintaining a healthy lifetstyle is to a persons quality of life.

My plan is to do my next Ironman in my 60th year. There is no confusion "why" any longer when I am asked that question yet again.

By setting that goal, I realize that I will have to stay fit between now and then. It also means that when that starting gun goes off 4 years from now, I will be going into my 60's in absolute peak condition. Most likely among the fittest 60 year olds in the world. Really not a bad group to be a part of at that stage in ones life. How that particular race turns out really has no bearing on anything. Just making it there is reward in itself.

I strongly believe that how successful or rich a person is doesn't really make a whole lot of difference when a twist of fate strips it all away and makes people from all walks of life materially equal and dependent on their own physical strength, courage, and adaptibility in order to survive.

The world is changing and events like 9-11 and hurricane Katrina are examples of catastrophic events that knew no boundaries and in an instant left individuals with nothing but the ability they possessed within themselves to at least provide a fighting chance to survive.

Of course it doesn't mean everyone has to begin training for the Ironman Triathlon-- one of the most challenging events in the world. However, to meet the unexpected circumstance of an ever-changing world, it behooves all of us to take care of our physical well-being to the best of our ability. At any age and yes, even as we settle into the retirement years.

Perhaps the best way to explain what I mean is an example I used in a previous article.

Twenty years ago, had I found myself in the middle of a lake, 5 miles from shore with no lifejacket--I would have drowned in 2 or 3 minutes. Now it would be an opportunity for a long training swim.

The Ironman has given me that ability and that confidence. I owe this amazing event so much.

- a piece of PCV pipe about 1 meter long and about 2cm is diameter

I am homeless by choice

When my wife and I got married several years ago, one of our biggest goals we put down on paper was to work where we wanted to live. When I originally wrote those goals, I imagined living on the beach listening to the waves crash on the beautiful white sands of Florida. It's funny how times change. While I wasn't born in Florida (I leave that distinction to Michigan), I lived most of my life in FLA. My wife is one of the rare few who was actually born AND raised in Florida and lived all her life there until I was offered a job several years ago in Tennessee when we moved to Nashville.

I love Nashville and to this day many believe that it is the GREAT secret of the South, and personally, I'd have to agree.

I thought long and hard about where I could imagine living, working and raising our son when I started my business. Last year my wife and I took it to heart, so we spent several weeks scouting areas of the country where we suspected we wanted to live. We flew and drove throughout the South and the Northeast and finally we took a trip out to the mountains. When we arrived, it was amazing. We are outdoors people so we both loved the vistas of the mountains. Living in the South most of our lives, we wanted to be connected to friendly people, and we wanted someplace that had a business infrastructure I could continue building my businesses on.

As I write you this BLOG entry, I have completed an exhausting 2 day drive to Boulder, Colorado. We've sold our house, and I'm now living amongst stacks of boxes in a hotel room until we move into temporary quarters to scout for a house. Technically, I'm homeless.

I talk to and email my clients every day and except for a few times a year for lunches and connectivity meetings, I could be anywhere on the planet, hence why we decided to do this.
